ADHD Coaching and Therapy

Have you ever been told you’re —

Not good enough.

Why can’t you focus?

You’re so smart. Why can’t. you finish this task?

You’re full of potential but..

You’re all over the place!

If you only tried harder and faster, you can get it done.

“ADHD is not a disorder of ability. It’s a disorder of performance.”

  • David Nowell, Ph.D. , Clinical Neuropsychologist

No matter how hard you work, you cannot seem to buckle down to do the things you’re supposed to do. You get distracted and tasks pile up. The longer your to-do list, the more stressed you get. The more overwhelmed you are, the more you can’t control your thoughts and emotions.  Life becomes putting out one fire after another. You just want to get away from it all.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

As folks with attention deficit hyperactive disorder or ADHD, you know you can focus and get things done if it’s exciting. So it’s not a question of not having the ability to complete tasks in the to do list - it’s that you do not know where to start or not even know which task to do because everything is just too overwhelming.

Because of my own ADHD, I have an in-depth understanding of this condition’s unique challenges and how they can contribute to an unquiet mind.

As your ADHD therapist or coach, let me help you -

Get Organized! 📋

I will provide you with organizational strategies and structure that works for your ADHD so you can put systems in place and get things done ✅ .

By using behavior therapy and neuroscience, let us help set up your physical space so you have a place that supports your ADHD, not distract it.

1.

Manage Overwhelm

Aside from organizational challenges, the ADHD condition also comes with being unable to control intense emotions like impulsivity and overwhelm. Extensively trained in dialectical behavior therapy 🧘‍♀️, an emotion regulation therapy, and exposure response prevention 🌩, an anxiety treatment at the University of Pennsylvania, I will teach you skills to regulate your emotions so you don’t avoid tasks or act on every impulse or intense feeling you get.

I’m also trained in acceptance commitment therapy 💭, cognitive behavior therapy 💬, and compassion focused therapy ❤️ that can help you manage overpowering thoughts, negative core beliefs, rejection sensitivity, and imposter syndrome.

  2.

Learn the science behind our ADHD brains  🧠  so it works for us not against us.

By understanding that ADHD is a brain condition, I’ll teach you why our brains are wired to specific triggers and do certain things. I will teach you to thrive by setting up the right conditions and accommodations that support our brains.

Together, we will create a personalized plan that aligns with your strengths, challenges, and lifestyle. You will also get a tracker that contains:
📋 the skills needed to manage your ADHD
📝 worksheets
🖋️ powerpoints
📌 resources for ADHD organizing your executive functions, emotion regulation, nutrition and more.

4.

Resolve unhealthy patterns 🌩 in your life and environment.

ADHD people often judge themselves harshly - “Why can’t I get there on time?” “Why can’t I stop scrolling Instagram at night and go to bed?”. There are actually a lot of components in place that make their ADHD worse so it is not just a matter of self-discipline. Together we will deconstruct what’s actually happening and why and take the judgement out; we will change those patterns so they don’t keep repeating again.

3.

Let’s get dopamine ⚡️ and take charge of your ADHD.

💡 Did you know ADHD can co-occur with other mental health conditions? One of them is Obsessive Compulsive disorder or OCD. It’s important to work with a clinician who understands how these two conditions interact together. To learn more about OCD, click here.
